Living in Uruguay
There are few things that I would like better than helping people move to Uruguay. However, those who have already gone through the process know things much better. I found the following website, which contains a lot of information for expats, like residency requirements, property advice, etc.: guide.totaluruguay.com/ Also, you can check out InterNations: www.internations.org/ who have a group dedicated to Uruguay.
ATTENTION! Many people believe they can retire in Uruguay and have a confortable life with much less money they need in their home countries. That may be completely false. Uruguay is one of the most expensive countries in Latin America, and whereas I would love to help you relocate here, I have to warn you about this. So you can compare costs, I found a very useful website with lots of prices: https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Uruguay. Besides, if you would like to check the prices where I do my grocery shopping (best grocery store in Uruguay), here it is: www.tinglesa.com.uy |
If there's anything you think I could help you with as a local, please let me know! You can post on the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/pages/A-Natives-Guide-to-Uruguay/1518116135077269?ref=hl), or, if you don't like that, you can contact me directly at reobasco@gmail.com.
And by the way, if you happen to need translation services, I can help: Please check www.firstdivision.net |
